Styles of yoga

Hatha & Alignment Yoga

Hatha is a disciplined and grounding style of yoga that emphasizes longer-held postures, breathwork (pranayama), mudra, and a deeper inner journey. This practice helps you build strength, stability, and endurance, both physically and mentally.

Classes often move at a slower, intentional pace, allowing time to explore alignment, breath control, and meditative awareness.

Ideal for: Those seeking to strengthen both body and mind, deepen their breath practice, and connect with yoga as a path of self-awareness—not just movement.

Styles of yoga

Solar Flow

Solar flow is a vinyasa style class which is a more dynamic style where movements are linked with breath. Classes often move through sequences like sun salutations and feel more like a “dance of breath and movement.” It’s energizing, creative, and often changes from class to class.

Ideal for: Those who enjoy movement, variety, and building heat in the body.

Styles of yoga

Aerial Yoga

Aerial yoga uses a hammock or fabric suspended from the ceiling to support and explore yoga poses. It can help with spinal decompression, improve core strength, and add a playful, freeing element to your practice; think floating, inverting, and flying.

Ideal for: Adventurous spirits, people wanting to relieve back tension, or try something different and fun.

Styles of yoga

Yin Yoga & Fascia Release

Yin is a slow, meditative practice where poses are held for 3–5 minutes (or longer) to target the deep connective tissues (like fascia, ligaments, and joints). It encourages stillness, surrender, and deep relaxation.

Ideal for: People who want to slow down, improve flexibility, or balance an active lifestyle with rest.

Styles of yoga

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini & Breathwork is a dynamic and energising practice that combines repetitive movement, longer holds, meditation, and active breathing techniques to awaken energy, increase awareness, and support emotional release and clarity.

Ideal for: Those who enjoy an intense, transformative practice and want to explore the connection between breath, mind, and energy.
Please note: This class involves strong, active breathing and is not suitable during pregnancy or for people with certain health conditions (such as heart issues or high blood pressure).

Styles of yoga

Nada Yoga

Nada Yoga is a focused and grounding practice that uses sound and vibration to support inner awareness. At Aum Yoga Center, this unique style combines a traditional Hatha practice with morning yoga, framed by listening to Vedic mantra at the beginning and end of class. The physical practice emphasizes steadiness, breath awareness, and presence, allowing the effects of sound to subtly inform the experience.

Classes unfold at a measured, intentional pace, with held postures and clear structure, offering space to settle the mind and deepen attention without rushing or continuous flow.

Ideal for: Those who enjoy a stable and strong Hatha practice and are curious about the meditative qualities of sound, seeking a practice that is grounded, inward, and quietly transformative.

Styles of yoga

Slow Flow & Sound Healing

Slow Flow & Sound Healing is a steady, well-rounded practice that blends a Hatha-inspired flow with moments of stillness and deep rest. The class follows the same thoughtfully designed sequence each week, allowing the body and mind to gradually build strength, focus, and familiarity. Movement is smooth and intentional, supporting both physical stability and mental concentration.

Classes conclude with a guided relaxation accompanied by crystal sound bowls, offering space to unwind, integrate the practice, and settle into a state of calm.

Ideal for: Beginners seeking a clear and accessible structure, as well as experienced practitioners who value repetition, mindful strength-building, and deep relaxation. The repeated sequence supports progress, confidence, and a deeper connection to the practice over time.

Styles of yoga

Crystal bowl sound healing

Crystal bowl sound healing uses the pure, resonant tones of quartz crystal bowls to guide the body and mind into a deep state of relaxation and energetic balance. The vibrations help release tension, calm the nervous system, and clear stagnant energy, making space for healing on a physical, emotional, and spiritual level.

Many people experience a sense of stillness, clarity, or even emotional release during a session: simply by lying down, listening, and allowing the sound to wash over them.

Ideal for: Anyone seeking deep rest, emotional release, energetic alignment, or simply a peaceful reset.

Styles of yoga

Monthly Kirtan

Kirtan is a form of devotional chanting and an expression of Bhakti Yoga; the yoga of the heart. Together, we sing simple mantras or sacred sounds, accompanied by instruments like harmonium, guitar and drums. You don’t need to be a singer—just come with an open heart. The repetitive rhythm and collective energy help open the heart, quiet the mind, and create a joyful, uplifting sense of connection.

Ideal for: Anyone longing for community, emotional expression, or a heart-opening experience through music and mantra.
Unique monthly classes

Workshops

At Aum Yoga Center, we offer a variety of unique workshops each month, giving you the chance to dive deeper into different aspects of yoga, healing, and self-discovery. These workshops are open to everyone; whether you’re new to the practice or looking to expand your experience.
Workshops may include one or more of the following elements, which we explain below:
PRANAYAMA
Pranayama is the yogic practice of working with prana, the life force energy, and we can do so through the breath. By using specific breathing techniques, we can balance our energy, calm the mind, and connect more deeply to ourselves. It’s a powerful bridge between body, breath, and spirit.
YOGA NIDRA

Yoga Nidra, or “yogic sleep,” is a guided meditation done lying down that leads you into deep relaxation and inner awareness. The body rests while the mind remains gently alert, allowing you to release tension, calm the nervous system, and access deeper levels of consciousness.

SOUND IMMERSION
A Sound Immersion is a deeply relaxing journey through sound. While you rest comfortably lying down, we create a soothing soundscape using crystal bowls, mantra, and free voice singing. The vibrations help release tension, quiet the mind, and open the heart. It’s not a performance—it’s an experience of being held by sound.

This is where you should go to destress from your travels! I have taken 2 yoga classes from Shiva so far. He is phenomenal. The class is in perfect English. The atmosphere is beautiful and calming. The studio is pristinely clean. Shiva knows how to ease you into a meditative state that will provide you with the most satisfying yoga experience you could hope for. Classes are $10 and worth every penny. Shiva chants throughout the class and helps students stay on track with deep breathing in sync with the movement. Thank you Aum yoga for providing this extraordinary yoga class! I can’t wait to come back for more!

Essential Retreat Organizer
I joined several classes at Aum Yoga while I stayed in Siem Reap. I tried different styles and workshops and I was lucky to meet all their teachers. Always professional and warm, I felt like at home from first day. They also have an amazing range of Crystal Singing Bowls that often are used at the end of the yoga class, or as a complete session on their Saturday schedule. Once I had the opportunity to take a private class with Shiva, so knowledgeable and experienced yoga instructor! Once a month they also offer community event Kirtan. Well equipped, clean and cozy, I dare to say this probably is best yoga studio in town.
